He was lighting her way

Laura Collins

My baby sister was getting married in 2020 and along with the worry of the pandemic we also had the worry of our wonderful father, who after many years of ill health, was slowly losing his battle. It became apparent that the wedding would not go ahead due to covid restrictions and our father also came to the realisation that he would not see his baby girl get married to the love of her life. 😔

He took me aside one day and told me he wanted to get something for Emma for her wedding day so she knew he’d always be with her. On searching, we found “Las mo shlí” It was perfect. We bought the most beautiful pendant with a shining light from dad.

Unfortunately Dad passed away in June 2020 and the wedding was rescheduled for August 2021. A few weeks before the wedding we presented Emma with the pendant. It was a very emotional moment. She proudly wore the pendant as she walked down the aisle. After the ceremony, a guest asked her what was around her neck. She showed them her pendant, and the guest said that the diamond was shining throughout the entire ceremony. Dad was showing us he was by her side, he was lighting her way. Thank you enibas.
